Syria and the Middle East: Our Greatest Miscalculation Since the Rise of Fascism

In an article published in the Guardian on Tuesday, Simon Jenkins considered that “by helping to destroy secular politics in the Middle East, the west has unleashed the Shia/Sunni conflict now tearing it apart.” The reality is they hope that belligerence might draw attention from political troubles back home. That is the worst reason for going to war.
